Praying for others is not only a blessing for us to do, but it is also a vital part of living the Christian life. We are asked, by God, to carry one another’s burdens. One way we can do this is by praying for one another.
Praying for people not only has impact on their life since you are helping usher in the hand of God when it corresponds to his will, but praying for others also changes your heart towards that person. So we should always pray for each other because prayer creates unity.
How marvelous it is that we have a God who listens! How wonderful it is that we have a God who wants us to talk to Him! Jesus said, “ Amen, amen, I say to you whatever you ask of the Father in my name He will give to you… ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete (Jn 16:23-24). God wants us to pray for each other so that we will be filled with joy.
Praying for others strengthens our bond with them, and it also strengthens our relationship with the Lord.
In the Vancouver Cursillo Movement we had had a Prayerline for many years. Many graces have been received. Through our prayer for each other we strengthen the bonds that we have with each other and with God. It is a good work to pray for each other – a work of mercy and love.
